Magical moments abound on this leisurely holiday through Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (collectively known as the Baltic States), plus Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. Discover the energised dynamism and liveliness of the modern Baltic countries - now that the 'singing revolution' in the late 1980's consigned communism to the dustbin of history - during walking tours in the medieval centres of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. In Poland, compare the modernity of ambitious Warsaw to the old-world charm of Krakow and in Germany, spend a full day in Berlin including a guided tour to Potsdam. Take time in Prague to enjoy its baroque buildings and gothic churches, and, as a fitting finale dine as the Viennese do by driving into the countryside for an evening of regional cuisine and traditional Viennese music at a 'heurige' wine tavern.
